Delivery Day: From Truck to Livable Space

Your container home has arrived at the nearest port, cleared customs, and now it’s on a flatbed truck headed to your property. Here’s exactly what happens on installation day — no surprises.
Before Delivery: Site Preparation Checklist
- Foundation installed and cured (minimum 7 days for concrete slab)
- Access road clear — minimum 4m width, 5m overhead clearance
- Truck turning radius verified — 15m minimum turning circle
- Leveling pads or screw piles at correct spacing (engineering drawings provided)
- Utility connection points marked (water, power, sewage/septic)
The Delivery Crew
Delivery includes a driver and one offload assistant. For expandable units, they handle the offload and initial expansion. For flat pack units, they offload the panels and hardware — assembly is your responsibility (or your hired crew). The crew is on-site for 2-4 hours depending on model.
Offload Equipment
The delivery truck has a built-in crane for offloading containers (Moffett or similar). The crane lifts the unit from the flatbed and sets it onto your foundation. For the Villa (two-story) model, a separate mobile crane may be needed — coordinate with Emily Chen at emily@atvworldwide.com at least 2 weeks before delivery.
Leveling and Positioning
- Truck backs into position (or crane lifts from side)
- Unit lowered onto foundation pads within 5mm of marked position
- Leveling feet adjusted at each corner until unit is within 3mm of level
- Integrated corner jacks lock into place
- Unit bolted to foundation through pre-drilled anchor points (8-12 bolts depending on model)
Expansion Process (Expandable Models Only)
For expandable units, the crew unfolds the wing sections:
- Release shipping locks (4 bolts per wing, 19mm socket)
- Slide wing outward on rails using the built-in winch or manual crank
- Engage locking pins at full extension (audible click when seated)
- Install the fold-down floor section that bridges the wing to the main floor
- Seal the expansion joint with provided EPDM gasket and screw-down batten
- Connect pre-wired electrical harness at the junction box inside the wing
Total expansion time: 45-90 minutes for a 40FT model with 2-person crew.
Post-Installation: Getting the Keys
Once placed and leveled, your container home is weathertight and locked. You’ll have:
- Functional doors and windows (all pre-installed at factory)
- Pre-wired electrical system (connect to site power at the main breaker panel)
- Pre-plumbed bathroom rough-in (connect water supply and drain at the utility port)
- All interior and exterior paint/finish complete
- Operating manual with maintenance schedules and warranty documentation
