- Port congestion: West Coast US ports add $500-$1,000 in congestion surcharges during peak.
- Container type: Expandable units ship as standard dry containers (no special container needed). Flat pack ships as LCL (less than container load) at lower rates.
What’s NOT Included in Port-to-Port Rates
- Customs clearance fees: $200-$500 depending on destination and broker fees
