Container Security Booth and Gatehouse — A Post That Works All Shift
Quick answer
A container security booth is a small fitted unit providing a manned post with a clear view of the entrance, heating, power and lighting. It suits a site gate, a car park entrance, a construction compound and an industrial yard. Units are insulated and glazed for all-shift use, and can be delivered as a single post or as a gatehouse with a barrier. Payment is by bank transfer in full.

What a guard post actually needs
A security post is occupied for long shifts in all weather, and the quality of the post determines whether staff can do the job properly. It needs to be warm, lit, and positioned so that the guard can see the approach without leaving the post.
That last point is the one most often got wrong. A booth sited beside the gate rather than facing it forces the guard to step outside to see who is arriving. A booth positioned on the approach line lets them see and record arrivals from inside.
Size, glazing and sightlines
A single post needs enough floor for a desk, a chair, a monitor and a heater, with clearance to move. Glazing on the approach side gives the needed view, and glazing on a second side gives a wider field without turning the post into a cold glass box.
Where the post also handles vehicle barriers, ticketing or weighing, the brief grows and so does the unit. A gatehouse with a barrier control point, a small counter and space for two staff is a different specification from a single guard post.
Power, heating and communications
A post needs a power connection for lighting, heating and whatever equipment it carries. Heating is sized for the post rather than the site, and because the unit is insulated a modest heater keeps it comfortable through a shift.
Communications matter more than they used to. A post with a phone, a radio point and a data connection for cameras is standard, and those are provided during manufacture so the equipment works on day one.
Weather and durability
A post sits at the exposed edge of a site, so wind and rain are the constant conditions. The shell is sealed and insulated, and the roof and door hardware are specified for exposure. A canopy over the vehicle approach gives the guard somewhere to step out of the rain while checking a vehicle.
Where the site is a construction compound, the post moves as the works progress, which is exactly what a relocatable unit is for.
What a quote request needs
Tell us whether you need a single post or a gatehouse, what equipment the post must carry, and how it will be powered. The size and specification follow.
Working with a barrier and access control
Most gatehouse posts control a vehicle barrier, and the equipment for that has to be integrated rather than added later. The barrier controls, a ticket printer, a card reader and a camera monitor all need bench space and power at the right height.
Sightlines from the desk to the barrier and to the number plate of an arriving vehicle determine the glazing layout. That is why post design starts with a sketch of the approach and the desk position rather than with the dimensions of the unit.
Security of the post itself
A guard post is an obvious target and needs to be protected as well as protective. Ballistic-rated glazing and reinforced door hardware are available where the risk justifies them, and the post can be positioned so that it cannot be approached without being seen.
Lighting outside the post is part of the same design. A post that is lit from within without being lit from outside is a post where the guard cannot see out but can be seen in.
Tell us the risk the site faces and the specification can be matched to it.
Frequently asked questions
How is payment handled?
Payment is by bank transfer in full before production.
How are units delivered?
Units ship folded and are delivered port-to-port (FOB). You arrange local transport from the port to your site.
Can I order more than one unit?
Yes. Multi-unit orders ship together, which lowers the freight cost per unit.
