Container Home Shipping Process — From Factory to Your Port

Quick answer

Shipping a container home runs in stages: order and production, then sea freight to your nearest port (FOB), then customs clearance and local delivery. Units ship folded to cut freight. You arrange the port-to-site transport, foundations and connections, and quote per order.

Stage 1: order and production

Once your order is confirmed and paid by bank transfer in full, your unit is built to order. Because units are made to spec, this stage takes time, and the schedule is confirmed at order.

Stage 2: sea freight

The unit ships folded, which means more units fit per container and freight is lower than moving a finished structure. We deliver to your named seaport under FOB terms, so the sea leg and the delivery to the port are on us.

Stage 3: customs and clearance

At the port, your unit is imported. Tariffs and duties are payable on your side and vary by country, which is why we quote per order rather than publishing a price. You or your customs broker handle clearance.

Stage 4: local delivery and siting

From the port, you arrange transport to your site, then foundations or pads, then the water, power and drainage connections. This is the last mile, and it is where planning pays off.

Planning for a smooth shipment

Confirm your nearest port before ordering. Line up a customs broker and a local transport contractor. Prepare your foundation and site while the unit is in transit, so there is no idle time when it lands.

Payment and ordering

Units are quoted per order and paid by bank transfer in full. Send your size, quantity and nearest port for a quote.
