Container Home Office Layout — Working Comfortably

Quick answer

A container home office layout needs a clear desk position away from the main traffic, good task lighting, ventilation and reliable power and data. A single unit makes a focused workspace; two units joined make room for meetings. The layout is set at order, before production.

Place the desk for focus

Put the desk away from the entrance and the main circulation so you are not working in a corridor. A view helps; glare does not.

Light for the work

Combine natural light with task lighting, and control glare from the screen. Lighting is the difference between a usable office and a tiring one.

Air and temperature

Ventilation and climate control keep a focused space comfortable. Steel walls need insulation to stay workable in hot or cold weather.

Power and data

Plan socket positions and data runs at order so cables are contained rather than trailing across the floor.

Scale from one to two

A single unit makes a focused workspace; joining two units makes room for a small team or a meeting area.

Frequently asked questions

How is payment handled?

Payment is by bank transfer in full before production.

How are units delivered?

Units ship folded and are delivered port-to-port (FOB). You arrange local transport from the port to your site.

Can I order more than one unit?

Yes. Multi-unit orders ship together, which lowers the freight cost per unit.

Choosing the right size

Container units are built in fixed shell lengths, so the plan has to work within a length rather than being fitted to a wall. A 10FT shell suits a single-use pod: a studio, an office, a bathroom block, or a storage and utility room. A 20FT shell is the smallest length that gives a genuinely usable one-bedroom or studio layout once a bathroom and kitchen run are subtracted from the floor. A 30FT length is where two bedrooms become realistic. A 40FT shell is the length most families settle on, because it allows two proper bedrooms, a living area and a kitchen with real work surface without squeezing circulation.

Measure the internal width after lining and insulation, not the nominal container width. The usable internal dimension is what your furniture, appliances and doorway widths have to fit, and on a narrow unit the difference between a 600mm and a 500mm appliance run is the difference between a workable kitchen and a corridor.

If your requirement sits between two lengths, the honest advice is to go up rather than to try to compress a plan. Storage and circulation are the first things lost when a layout is squeezed, and they are the things occupants notice every day.

Getting a real number

Send your destination postal code and the model you are considering, and we take that to a customs broker and return an all-in delivered figure — unit, ocean freight, duty and brokerage — usually within one business day. There is no online checkout and no obligation: the quote opens the conversation rather than closing it.

Payment is by bank transfer in full before production, and units are delivered port-to-port (FOB); you arrange local transport from the arrival port to your site. We work factory-direct with a single vetted manufacturer, so the price you see is the same price a retailer would pay, with no distributor margin layered on top.
