Here’s how to tell who actually sells container homes, and how to buy straight from the manufacturer.
Who actually sells container homes?
There are three kinds of sellers, and they are not the same:
- Manufacturers — build the units and sell direct. Usually the lowest price, most control over spec.
- Dealers and resellers — buy from manufacturers and sell on. Convenient, but you pay their markup.
- Marketplaces — list anyone’s units. Prices and quality vary widely between listings.
If a “dealer near me” is quoting you a unit and can’t tell you which factory built it, you are almost certainly paying a middleman.
Why buying direct is worth the effort
- Lower price. No reseller margin between you and the factory.
- Straight answers on spec. You talk to the people who build it.
- Consistency at volume. Multi-unit orders match when they come from one source.
- One point of contact from quote to port.
How to buy direct from the manufacturer
- Pick the size. 10FT for offices and pods, 20FT for one- and two-bedroom units, 40FT for larger homes, and a double-story villa when land is tight.
- Get a written quote. Per-unit price, configuration, and port-to-port shipping.
- Confirm and pay. Payment is by bank transfer in full. We do not offer financing.
- Manufacture and ship. Units ship to your port; you arrange onward transport.
What to check before you order
- Shipping terms. Ours are port-to-port (FOB) — know where your coverage ends.
- Foundation. Buyer’s responsibility and site-specific; budget separately.
- Permits. Check what your area requires for a container structure.
- Site access. Make sure a unit can actually be delivered on your road.
