Container homes are bought and delivered all over the world — the process is the same wherever you are. This is a plain, country-neutral guide to buying a container home direct from the manufacturer, including how units ship internationally, what it costs, and what you need to have ready before you order. It applies whether you are in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, or Australasia.
What a container home is
A container home is built from standard steel shipping containers. Units either ship as finished modules or — with expandable models — ship folded and open out on site to roughly three times their shipping footprint. They are factory-built, which is what keeps them fast, consistent, and cost-effective compared with a traditional site build.
Why buying direct works worldwide
- One factory, many markets. Units are built to a standard and shipped to your port, wherever that is.
- Lower price without a middleman. Buying direct removes reseller markup.
- Consistent units at volume. Multi-unit orders match — important for business and rental use.
- Fast to deploy. Factory build removes most of the on-site time and weather delay.
How container homes ship internationally
We quote and ship port-to-port (FOB). In plain terms:
- We manufacture your units to your specification.
- Units ship to your chosen destination port.
- Your price covers the units and delivery to that port.
- You arrange onward transport from the port to your site — locally or with a carrier we can point you to.
Because units ship together, freight per unit drops on multi-unit orders — one of the main reasons volume buyers come out ahead.
What size do you need?
- 10FT Expandable — compact studio, office pod, or kiosk.
- 20FT Expandable / Premium — the most common size; one or two bedrooms.
- 40FT Premium / Deluxe — full family home or staff housing.
- Double-Story Villa — where land is limited and you build upward.
Work in square metres or square feet — either is fine. Tell us the finished floor area you need and we will match a model to it.
What to have ready before you order
- A destination port. Your price is port-to-port, so choose the port you want to land at.
- A base or foundation plan. Buyer’s responsibility and site-specific; budget it separately.
- Power and water. Decide the setup before build — mains, generator, or solar.
- Local permissions. Requirements vary by country and region; check what applies where your unit will stand.
- Site access. Confirm a unit can be delivered and set down on your land.
