Before you order an expandable container home, you want to know what other buyers actually asked. The same handful of questions come up on nearly every order — about size, delivery, setup, and what happens when the unit arrives. This is the buyer’s guide version: the real questions, answered plainly.
“How big is it really?”
Expandable units ship folded and open out on site to roughly three times their shipping footprint. A 10FT unit is a compact studio; 20FT gives you one or two bedrooms; 40FT is a full family home. Decide by what you need inside, not just the shipping length.
“How does it get to me?”
Units ship folded to save space and cost. Our shipping is port-to-port (FOB) — your price covers the unit and delivery to the destination port, and you arrange transport from there. This is the most common question, so ask exactly where your coverage ends before you order.
“What does it need to be set up?”
- A level base or foundation. This is the buyer’s responsibility and varies by site — budget it separately.
- Site access. A clear route for delivery to the pad.
- Power and water connections — planned before delivery, not after.
“Can I use it year-round?”
Yes, with insulation and lining. A plain steel shell is hot in summer and cold in winter; insulation and an interior finish are what make an expandable unit comfortable in a real climate.
“Can I stack or add units later?”
Container structures are built to stack, and expandable units can be added to later as a matching unit. If you think you will expand, tell us at order time so the layout and connections make sense from the start.
“How do I pay?”
Payment is by bank transfer in full. We do not offer financing.
